Isra Chaker is the Founder & Chief Executive Officer Every Pregnancy. The human rights advocate and campaigner who has mobilised $135M+ worldwide for maternal and newborn health will reflect on her journey from applying for a chance to speak at the 2019 One Young World to becaming an Ambassador and paying that investment forward by establishing the inaugural Every Pregnancy Scholarship to support and invest in young leaders advancing maternal and newborn health in their own communities around the world.

Isra Chaker is a Syrian-American human rights activist, movement builder, and public speaker dedicated to challenging the systems that harm communities and building new ones rooted in justice, dignity, and collective power. She is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Every Pregnancy, the world’s first Zakat-approved Muslim collaborative advancing maternal and newborn health. Under her leadership, Every Pregnancy has grown into a global coalition of more than 80 partner organizations working across 20+ countries—reaching mothers and babies in some of the world’s most fragile and crisis-affected settings.In just three years, Isra has built and scaled a pioneering model of faith-inspired, community-driven philanthropy mobilizing nearly $130 million in funding for frontline maternal and newborn health programs.
Prior to founding Every Pregnancy, Isra served as a Senior Campaign Manager at Amnesty International USA, where she led high-impact national advocacy campaigns and mobilized cross-organizational movements for human rights. She has also served as an Ambassador for One Young World and a Public Advocate for UNRWA USA, using her platform to elevate the voices and experiences of displaced and underserved communities.
Across every facet of her work, Isra is driven by one core belief: that people power can transform systems. Through her global platform, @IsraSpeaks, she reaches hundreds of thousands—empowering individuals to use their voice as a tool for advocacy, action, and lasting change. His work strengthens emergency obstetric care through healthcare worker training, health systems improvement, and digital innovation—ensuring women and newborns receive timely, effective care even where health systems are fragile.

Strengthening Health Systems – Israt is a physician, public health professional, and Project Coordinator at the Centre for Injury Prevention and Research, Bangladesh. She contributes to national initiatives addressing maternal and perinatal deaths, obstetric fistula, maternal nutrition, emergency reproductive healthcare, and gender-based violence. She has trained more than 770 healthcare professionals in maternal and child nutrition and emergency reproductive health—ensuring women and newborns receive safe, respectful, and high-quality care.
