As Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Global Head of Data, Digital & IT (DD&IT) at Novartis, he leads the company's global technology, data, AI and digital strategy, helping advance Novartis' ambition to reimagine medicine. With more than 16 years at Novartis, Bernd has held senior leadership roles across Technical Operations and Commercial Operations. Working at the intersection of science, operations and technology, he is helping unlock new possibilities for healthcare through AI, data and digital innovation, accelerating progress from discovery to delivery. Prior to joining Novartis, Bernd held senior technology leadership positions at UBS. He holds a Master's degree in Business Economics from the University of Basel. A passionate advocate for innovation, lifelong learning and human-centred leadership, Bernd is committed to helping individuals and organizations embrace change, build future-ready skills and unlock new opportunities through technology.
