Advocating for Global Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights: Identifying Gaps and Taking Action
In this dynamic workshop, CARE Canada's Youth Public Engagement Champions (YPEC) will engage participants in discussions and collaborative exercises, encouraging them to reflect on their own experiences to deepen our collective understanding of sexual and reproductive health inequities affecting youth. The YPEC facilitators will kick off the session with a short presentation on SHE SOARS, a youth-led project that is increasing young women and girls’ access to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) in Kenya, Uganda and Zambia. An interactive mapping activity and breakout group discussions will follow to develop cross-regional insights and collaboration on health equity. Participants will explore and reflect on the accessibility of SRHR services, information and commodities around the world, while considering their own communities and health systems and the role of different stakeholders. Join this session to identify challenges as well as strengths in achieving youth SRHR in various contexts globally!
