Co-Director of PROGRES (Sulawesi Regional Ecological Conservation Initiative)
I am the Co-Director of PROGRES (Sulawesi Regional Ecological Conservation Initiative), a conservation organization based on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. Established in 2018, PROGRES has been building a network of empowered communities in the world’s biodiversity hotspot of Wallacea and strengthening local leadership in protecting endemic yet overlooked wildlife, from bats, tortoises, cuscus, to freshwater fish. Growing up close to the tropical rainforest of Lore Lindu in a remote area of Sulawesi, I have been passionate about nature and aspires to lead and expand my works in biodiversity conservation locally and globally. Besides PROGRES, I felt the need for different strategies to address conservation challenges which resulted in my involvement in various initiatives to advance conservation practice. My ten years of experience have ranged from leading essential biodiversity research to addressing unequal access to capacity-building opportunities. I co-founded and led Tambora Muda, one of the first national-level networks for Indonesian young conservationists. I recently became part of the steering committee that together established the IUCN SSC Indonesian Species Specialist Group (IdSSG) to foster Global South leadership and bridge collaborative conservation across regions. I won the People Choice Award Conservation Optimism Southeast Asia Awards in 2022 and was selected as a member of 2024 cohort of Re.Generation Program by The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation. While co-leading PROGRES, I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences, Policy, and Management at UC Berkeley, USA, and active in writing both scientific and popular articles about biodiversity and the roles of woman leaders in galvanizing conservation actions.

University of PotsdamJohan Rockström is Director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, Professor at the Institute of Earth and Environmental Science at Potsdam University, and Professor in Water Systems and Global Sustainability at Stockholm University. Rockström gained international recognition with the development of the Planetary Boundaries framework, which has since become a standard of sustainability science. He is deeply involved in research activities covering a range of topics related to the Earth System and global sustainability in the Anthropocene. In addition to his research endeavors, which have been widely used to guide policy, Rockström provided strategic scientific guidance as a member of the European Commission’s Expert Group ‘Mission Board for Adaptation to Climate Change, including Societal Transformation’ and various scientific academies, including the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina. He regularly acts as a speaker to high-level international meetings and organisations. Rockström’s work has been recognised with accolades, the most recent of which include the Prince Albert II of Monaco Climate Change Award (2020), the Hillary Laureate by the Hillary Institute of International Leadership (2017), the French distinction Knight of the Legion of Honour (2016), the German Environmental Award (2015) and the International Cosmos Prize (2015). Rockström obtained a Master of Science (MSc) at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, a Diplôme d’Agronomie Approfondie (DAA) at Institut National Agronomique Paris-Grignon, a Licentiate of Philosophy (PhLic) at Stockholm University, and completed a doctorate (PhD) in Natural Resources Management at Stockholm University.

A breakout literary phenomenon and #1 New York Times bestselling author, Rupi Kaur wrote, illustrated, and self-published her first poetry collection, milk and honey (2014). Next came its artistic siblings, the sun and her flowers (2017) and home body (2020), both debuting at #1 on bestseller lists across the world. These collections have sold over 12 million copies and have been translated into over 40 languages, with milk and honey becoming one of the highest-selling poetry books of the 21st century. Clifford ChanceJessica Gladstone is a partner at global law firm Clifford Chance. She has extensive experience in international law, investment treaty arbitration, public law and constitutional challenges, and inter-state disputes, representing parties as counsel and advocate in some of the most significant recent international law cases. She advises states, international organisations and businesses on a wide range of public international law, including treaty negotiation and interpretation, immunities, international trade, human rights, climate change litigation and ESG issues. As a former legal adviser for the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, Jessica has experience negotiating treaties and representing the UK at the United Nations, Council of Europe, and before the European Court of Human Rights. In addition to her roles as counsel, Jessica sits as arbitrator, is a visiting lecturer in international arbitration at King's College London, and a member of BIICL's Public International Law Advisory Panel. She sits on the UK Government's Trade Advisory Group, and held a seat on the WEF Global Future Council for Trade and Investment.
