The Foundations of Meaningful Youth Engagement
1.8 billion people. That’s the number of young people between the ages of 10 to 24 alive today – that's over 16% of the world’s population. Young people are passionate, brilliant, and ready to make a positive change in the world. Yet, their experiences are not fully leveraged in addressing the biggest societal and organisational challenges of today. In this workshop, participants will learn about best practices in meaningful engaging young people in organisational initiatives, programs, and advocacy, including learning about and applying the foundational principles of meaningful youth engagement, the Flower of Youth Participation and the 8 levels of Hart’s Ladder of Youth Participation. Through presentations and delegate discussions of case studies, participants will walk away from the session with key tools to guide their practice of meaningfully engaging young people in all pillars of society.
