How to Promote Workplace Equity for Deaf and Disabled People
An estimated 1.3 billion people – or 16% of global population worldwide – experience a significant disability today. In addition to this, the World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that there are approximately 466 million Deaf or hard of hearing people worldwide. This workshop aims to first discuss the correlation between inclusion and equity in the workplace. Following this, participants will be encouraged to use their own knowledge and experience to spark discussions on practical and effective ways to ensure that equity is promoted and valued in the workplace. This workshop will support and guide participants to conceptualise what effective equity in their workplace looks like and how it can be achieved with actionable steps.
