  Sophie is the Founder and CEO of The 93% Club. Sophie was raised by a working class single mum on a council estate in North London and balanced two jobs in McDonalds and John Lewis alongside her schoolwork after losing her father to his battle with alcoholism and drug addiction. In 2014, she became the first student ever in her school's history to achieve straight A*s at A level in a school year where the GCSE pass rate was just 32%. To build a better life for herself, Sophie left her hometown for the University of Bristol to study English. The reality of university was very different from what Sophie imagined, with her working class, state-educated background leaving her alienated and at odds with university life. After discovering the existence of the Old Boys' Club, a network that propels those from private schools into top jobs, Sophie, age 19, founded The 93% Club – a members' club for state school students – to do the same.

  Lord Dr Michael Hastings CBE is an independent Member & Cross Bench Peer in the House of Lords and the Chairman of SOAS, University of London and Professor of Leadership at the Huntsman Business School, USA; he is a NED at Saxton Bampfylde, a leading Executive Search Firm and sits on the Board of Cornerstone VC and is the Patron of the Cornerstone Syndicate Fund and a strategic advisor to Lendoe and Harambe Entrepreneurs. Lord Hastings is also Chair of the London Chamber of Commerce Black Business Association; he is a Governor of the Vodafone/ Safaricom MPESA Academy in Nairobi, Kenya and a VP of UNICEF, Ambassador for TEAR FUND and Chairman of the Council of ZANE – the leading Zimbabwe Aid Agency. He was formerly the Global Head of Citizenship at KPMG International and before that the Head of Public Affairs at the BBC. He served as Chancellor of Regents University London from 2017 to 2021. He is President of UK Community Foundations, founder and VP of Catch22 and co-founder of My Brothers Keeper, a unique prisoner support commitment.

  “Stephen is an Equality and Diversity Assistant Principal with the Equality & Human Rights Unit of the Education Authority NI which has responsibility for 350,000 children and young people, and 44,000 staff. He manages the Disability Employment Support Service, and provides strategic direction for the development of equality screenings / impact assessments, policy, specialist training, and advice to schools, youth and corporate settings on complex equality and human rights issues. Prior to this, Stephen worked as a Policy & Engagement Officer for the Law Society of Northern Ireland, and Student Experience Policy Co-ordinator for Queen’s University Belfast, with a key focus on mental wellbeing, student support, and tackling inequalities. During 2016-18 he was elected as Vice- President Equality & Diversity and subsequently President of Queen’s Students’ Union, where he won Equality Activist of the Year (Student Achievement Awards Ireland), and Overall UK Student Officer Team of the Year (National Union of Students Awards). In November 2023, Stephen was appointed as the Belfast Legacy Ambassador for One Young World. In addition, Stephen is a PEACE Ambassador for the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB), a member of the Standing Committee of Queen’s Convocation, and a Non-Executive Director of Arts & Business Northern Ireland.”
