Dr. Shamim Nabuuma Kaliisa is the Co-Founder and CEO of Chil Femtech Center, a company that offers artificial intelligence-guided Hub and Spoke Telemedicine services to excluded people in the Middle East and Africa. Dr. Kaliisa is a recipient of the Forbes Africa Youth Icon Award in 2023, a member of the Bloomberg New Economy Catalyst Class of 2021, and a part of the Forbes Africa Under 30 Class of 2020. In 2019, Dr. Kaliisa was selected by Google for Startups as one of the 10 startup CEOs using Artificial Intelligence to solve community problems in Africa. In 2018, the University of Tokyo in Japan, along with the Takeda Foundation, awarded Dr. Kaliisa a Young Entrepreneurs Award. In the same year, she was chosen by the University Forum as one of the 20 Young African entrepreneurs using technology to change the world.
