Shaping the Next Generation Leaders: Skills and Tools for Youth Advocates
How can youth be empowered to make a change in the world? How can they voice their concerns to high-level decision makers? What tools are at their disposal to be an effective advocate and make an impact? Centered on amplifying the voices of young people, this workshop will cover various advocacy methods and platforms. Participants will learn how to effectively communicate their visions and practice their diplomacy and negotiation skills. Applying lessons learned from participating in global summits such as Youth 7 and Youth 20, Young Diplomats of Canada will host a simulation-based workshop. The goal is to provide a simulation of Youth 7 and Youth 20 Summits to attendees, where they will be divided into four groups to discuss the following topics: Climate Crisis, Artificial Intelligence, Gender Equality and the Future of Work. Each group will work together to develop a final statement on their position related to each topic.
