ABSANonhlanhla Magagula is a seasoned development practitioner with over 15 years of experience, primarily within the financial services sector. She currently serves as the Head of Corporate Citizenship Programmes at Absa, where she leads strategic initiatives focused on youth economic empowerment. Her portfolio includes Entrepreneurship Education Initiatives, the Absa CSI Trust – established as part of Absa’s BBBEE transaction in 2023 and the Employee Volunteering Portfolio. Nonhlanhla is deeply passionate about unlocking the potential of young people and creating pathways for their economic participation. Her career journey reflects a strong commitment to inclusive development—from coaching university students in academic and leadership excellence to designing transformative programmes that unlock economic opportunities for marginalised communities, especially youth. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance & Economics) from the University of Cape Town, an Honours in Development Studies from the University of South Africa and a Postgraduate Diplomas in Management (Monitoring & Evaluation and Public & Development Management) from the Wits School of Governance.
