PACT Break the Hate
Join Andy Nulman and Stephen Bronfman, the visionary founders of PACT!, as they host the presentation for the inaugural PACT! Break the Hate Award! The Break the Hate Challenge, launched in collaboration with One Young World, is a bold global call to action. This award recognizes young leaders who are creatively and courageously fighting hate in all its forms—including racism, xenophobia, antisemitism, anti-Muslim bigotry, misogyny, and attacks on the LGBTQI+ community. In this session we will hear from the winners who are using their talent, resilience, and radical goodness to make hate socially unacceptable and turn up the volume on empathy.

Passionate about making the world a better place, Stephen’s preoccupation for giving back began over 30 years ago with a deep commitment to climate causes. Today, working with his wife through the Claudine and Stephen Bronfman Family Foundation, over $100M has been directed to numerous charitable initiatives across Quebec and Canada. As Executive Chairman of Claridge Inc., Stephen has driven innovative investments in food, entertainment, tech and real estate. He also serves on multiple nonprofit boards, leads major fundraising efforts, always bringing people together to turn big ideas into action. Fully bilingual with a widespread cultural appreciation, he is an ardent connoisseur of both reggae music and Chinese food.

While young in spirit, Andy Nulman has been creating and leading major disruption forces for close to 50 years. His day-to-day duties running PACT! are the natural culmination of a career upsetting apple carts in showbusiness, technology and education. Perhaps best known as co-founder of Montreal’s renowned Just For Laughs International Comedy Festival, Andy also co-founded Airborne Mobile, a company celebrated as a pioneer in the industry of mobile media and marketing (and just look where that industry is today!). Gutsy and bold, Andy is a renowned public speaker, has written three books, was voted one of the Top 100 Montrealers of the 20th Century, has taught undergrad and MBA courses at McGill University, has a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame and was inducted into the Canadian Comedy Hall of Fame.
